Most owners don't need to. Connecting Google in the Site Performance tab already shows you your visitor counts, with no codes to paste.
If you already use Google Analytics, or you work with a marketing person who does, you can add it. Open the Advanced section in the left menu (it starts closed, so click the word Advanced), then click Tracking.
There you'll find fields for your Google Analytics ID and other tracking IDs, including Google Ads, Facebook, TikTok, and Bing.
That tab also has custom code boxes. Those are for experts only. A wrong paste can break your site, and the tab itself warns you about this. If you're not sure, leave them alone.
Why this matters
You get your visitor numbers the easy way in Site Performance. The Tracking tab is there for the day a marketing pro needs it.
