What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device when you visit them. They help the site remember your preferences, keep you logged in, and understand how you use the site. Some cookies are essential for the site to work; others help us improve your experience.

How We Use Cookies

LocalSites.Dev uses cookies for the following purposes:

Essential cookies

These cookies are required for the platform to function. Without them, you cannot log in or use the admin dashboard. They cannot be disabled.

  • platform_session— Keeps you logged in to the LocalSites.Dev platform. Expires when you log out or after 30 days of inactivity.
  • admin_session— Authenticates you for the tenant admin dashboard. Expires when you log out or after 24 hours.
  • csrf_token— Protects against cross-site request forgery attacks. Expires with each session.

Analytics cookies

These cookies help us understand how visitors interact with our marketing site and platform so we can improve the experience. They collect anonymous, aggregated data.

  • _ga, _ga_*— Google Analytics cookies that track page views, session duration, and traffic sources. Expire after 2 years.

Preference cookies

These cookies remember choices you make on the platform, such as your preferred dashboard view or dismissed notices.

  • ui_prefs— Stores interface preferences. Expires after 1 year.
  • cookie_consent— Records your cookie consent choice. Expires after 1 year.

Cookies on Tenant Websites

Websites you build and host on LocalSites.Dev may set their own cookies based on features you enable (for example, a contact form may use a session cookie). As the website owner, you are responsible for disclosing the cookies on your published site to your own visitors. We provide only the essential hosting cookies for tenant sites by default.

Third-Party Cookies

Some cookies are placed by third-party services we use:

  • Stripe— Sets cookies on our payment pages for fraud detection and secure payment processing.
  • Google Analytics— Sets analytics cookies as described above.

We do not use advertising or social-media tracking cookies.

Managing Your Cookies

You can control cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:

  • See what cookies are stored and delete them individually
  • Block all cookies or only third-party cookies
  • Set your browser to notify you when a cookie is placed

Note that blocking essential cookies will prevent you from logging in to LocalSites.Dev or using the admin dashboard. If you block analytics cookies, you can still use the platform normally — we just won’t be able to track usage patterns to improve the service.

Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy when we add or remove cookies. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
