Your website is your own place on the internet. Your Google listing is the box Google shows when someone searches your business. They are two different things that work together.
Your website is the pages at your web address, with your services, photos, and story. You control every word of it in your site editor.
Your Google listing, also called a Google Business Profile, is the map, hours, phone, and reviews that show up when someone Googles you. It lives on Google, so Google's rules apply.
Here's how they work as a pair. The listing catches people searching on the map and sends them to your website. Your website then does the convincing and gets them to call.
Both need the same name, phone, address, and hours. When those don't match, customers get confused and Google trusts you less.
Where you manage each:
- The website is managed in your site editor.
- The listing is managed on Google. Accounts with the Google Profile section can manage much of the listing from the site editor too.
Why this matters
The listing gets you found. The website turns lookers into callers. You need both, and you need them to say the same thing.
